The Window Room is an ambient rock project whose goal is to create unique
musical atmospheres and image intensive soundscapes. The band was formed in the
fall of 2005 by Shannon Bailey (keyboards), Craig Beideman (guitar), Mike
Farrington (guitar), and Lou Leone (bass). Their largely instrumental and
improvisational music is characterized by lush textures, stark soundscapes,
fragile timbres, and a strong sense of communicating the visual through sound.
Striking images such as The Rings of Saturn, penguins marching across
Antarctica, and a Shivering Forest fill listeners' imaginations as The Window
Room's haunting and atmospheric songs enliven audiences' ears.
The band's name -- The Window Room -- derives from their visionary approach, and
connotes a space in which distinct environments can be seen and experienced
through musical "windows."
