YOURS TRULY have announced a new EP!
Titled is this what i look like?, the upcoming EP is the follow-up to the
Australian pop-punk bandÆs 2020 debut full-length Self Care, and is scheduled
to be released in July this year via UNFD.
Originally planned as a three-track companion to their debut album, the
upcoming EP now comprises seven tracks and sees the band seeking to push
forward in every direction.
Speaking about the new EP, vocalist Mikaila Delgado comments, ôMy entire
adult life has been YOURS TRULY. With that taken away, I was in a bad place.
Not being able to perform was depressing. All the songs are about coming to
terms with who you are and who you want to be.ö
Delgado adds, ôI wear my heart on my sleeve. IÆve always been open with
things like my health and what IÆve gone through, but I was very aware we
live in a world where people use social media to show off idealised versions
of their lives. We never want to pretend everything is perfect. This is my
dirty laundry. ItÆs me saying IÆm an anxious mess, I donÆt know who I am but
IÆm trying to figure it out.ö
Alongside the announcement of the upcoming EP, the band have released a new
music video for the recordÆs lead single Hallucinate, which features guest
vocals from Josh Franceschi of YOU ME AT SIX.
Speaking about the new single, Delgado explains, ôHallucinate is an anxiety
attack turned into music, detailing how it takes over your body so totally
that it feels as if youÆre under the influence of something. IÆve struggled
badly with anxiety and itÆs debilitating every day to be at war with your own
thoughts. ItÆs one of the darkest songs weÆve ever written but I found a lot
of power in pulling out the chaos of how anxiety feels and sounds to me and
putting it in a song.ö
