   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     leading three tracks, recorded after duane's     ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     death, point the way toward the band's future.   ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     while still rooted in the group's blues-jam      ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     roots, these songs show the allmans angling      ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     closer to the melodic country style that was     ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     guitarist dicky betts's forte. betts acquits     ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     himself well on the opening "ain't wastin' time  ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     no more," deftly handling a slide-guitar part    ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     that cannot help but evoke the group's departed  ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     member. "melissa" plays squarely to betts's      ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     strengths, while "les brers in a minor" recalls  ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     the extended jams of the at the fillmore east    ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     album. the next three tracks on eat a peach are  ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     taken from the fillmore shows. each selection    ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     represents the duane-era allmans at their best,  ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     especially the blistering "trouble no more."     ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     the sound quality on these tracks, however,      ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     does not compare well to the analogous tracks    ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     on the fillmore concerts, an expanded reissue    ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     of the classic live album. the final three       ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     tracks, studio sessions featuring duane, hint    ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     at what peach might have been had duane lived    ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██                                                      ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     to some fans, the real allman brothers band      ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     began and ended with duane allman, after all he  ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     was the founder and leader of the band. they     ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     soldiered on for many years without him, but     ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     much of the magic chemistry of the original      ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     line up was gone. the twin guitar combo of       ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     allman/betts was one of the best ever. this      ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     bonus disc is great for duane era fans as it     ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     includes the full final closing of fillmore      ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     east show, and it is a smoker. many people will  ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     buy this for the bonus concert as i did, it's a  ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     nice supplement to the "at fillmore east album"  ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     with comparable sound quality except the bass    ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     drum is stronger in the mix here, maybe a        ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     little too strong at times. listening to these   ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     songs recorded 3 months later shows what great   ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     improvisers the band were- this band had no      ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     blueprint. the whipping post might even burn a   ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     little hotter than the earlier one. the deluxe   ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     set is a must have for fans of the original      ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     allman brothers band and gives a glimpse of      ██▓ █▓▒ ░
   ░ ▒▓█ ▓██     what was to come in the post duane era           ██▓ █▓▒ ░
