After their split in '94, Uk's pioneer 'acid jazz' band The Brand New
Heavies - N'Dea Davenport, Simon Bartholomew, Jan Kincaid and Andrew
Levy - reunited to come up with a brand new album 'Get Used To It' this
year on the US label Delicious Vinyl. 'I Don't Know Why I Love You' is
the first single from the LP and loaded with remixes from such big
names like Kenny Dope, 4hero and Spinna. The original version is a
remake of a Stevie Wonder's early classic from his 'For Once in My
Life' album. Kenny Dope formed the original into a deep 4/4 dancefloor
joint with bumping beats and great organ solo accompanied by N'Dea's
uplifting voice. New Yorker Spinna instead of his recent house
excursions, made a head nodding hiphop soul rework enlighting the shiny
vocal of the album version which is also on the CD and another retouch
from Tom Moulton.
