From the Artist
Before reinventing myself as the Surreal Gourmet, I
worked in the music business managing artists.
During that time, I was surrounded by music and
musicians 24/7. Music is still an integral part of
my life, and I canÆt imagine cooking--or
eating--without it. After salt, pepper, and wine,
itÆs the most important ingredient in my culinary
arsenal. The music provides beats for my chopping,
a groove for mixing, a melody for simmering, and an
attitude for spontaneity. And when my guests
arrive, it feeds their aural senses and becomes the
soundtrack to the low budget indie production we
call a dinner party. I canÆt think of a better way
to express my passion for music than to share some
of my favourite tracks--and recipes--with you.
