Nothing Rhymes With OrangeÆs history begins with the Coccaro brothers, Carl
Almasy on vocals and Rich on guitar. While growing up in Fort Lauderdale, they
discovered their knack for songwriting. Raised on a regimen of mostly UK
influences, the brothers were inspired to mold a sound that reflected their
childhood heroes of U2, INXS, The Police, REM, and Echo & the Bunnymen. The
result, an Alternative/Indie/Brit-Rock sound that is fresh amidst the
proliferation of the traditional American rock quartet.
With the addition of Travis Rosen on bass and Zack Eldridge on drums, they
released their first effort, Social Pretenders, a prelude to their signature
sound, later perfected in their second album, SOHO. While SOHO demonstrates the
bandÆs commercial appeal through the delivery of their greatest pop songs to
date, Nothing Rhymes With Orange sculpts infectious tunes, turning heads of avid
music fans. Yet, it was the clever lyrics and catchy hooks of their third EP,
Under A Spell that drew them comparisons from Echo & the Bunnymen to Oasis.
