For her solo debut Berlin chanteuse Annika Line
Trost strays from the electro-punk remit of her
Cobra Killers project, favouring a more organic,
rockabilly-meets-David-Lynch noir. It definitely
has style, and a certain depth, augmented by
soul-searching ditties like I Was Wrong: "Quitting
the detox was wrong, to still love you is wrong".
But only on the single In Diesen Raum does this
self-conscious recipe of twanging guitars,
chugging b-lines and jazz percussion ever really
catch alight.
