│ Boomla is oiled with the surreal aspects of existence, a world in
│ between the conscious and the subconscious. This is all set
│ against a landscape of sound and color, drawn from many corners of
│ musical influence and human emotion. Both Ben and Syrene naturally
│ challenge the norm, so Boomla is expectedly different. Everything
│ produced by this team is a statement of individuality. Thus
│ proving, that in this homogenized world, a glimmer of
│ ingeniousness and musical innovation can be sought. SyreneÆs
│ effortless vocal ability and BoomlaÆs depth of song writing is
│ capturing the imagination of music lovers across the board.
│
│ From an early age Syrene was doomed. Forced to sing at weddings
│ and funerals of which she despised and to live a general life of
│ tragedy and plain old unluckiness. Throughout her youth she was
│ consistently rejected by her teachers and peers and musically
│ never taken seriously, despite her obvious bottomless creative pit
│ for writing. Its no wonder why she now prefers to keep within a
│ safe distance from humans, she likes to watch them instead and
│ exercises the rule to ænever feed the animalsÆ. She accepts her
│ fate. Ben is not an academic. He nurtures a learning disability
│ resulting in an addiction to academic failure, a very rare case,
│ but nonetheless debilitating. Creating music was his only destiny.
│
│ Over the past 5 years, Ben moved to producing music in a glorified
│ version of a bedroom studio. Texture, time and melody developed
│ into song, and like the knee bone connecting to the ankle bone, a
│ prodigious song writing team with Syrene became a reality. Boomla,
│ have been in the studio for the last 2 years work shopping songs
│ for their next 3 albums. Boomla finished recording and mixing
│ their first mini album with an amazing 12 piece band comprising of
│ well known Aussie musoÆs in Melbourne. Boomla move forward with
│ limitless creative possibility in a world of structure and
│ conformity, building itself as a 100% independent act.
│
│ Ben and Syrene are currently working in the studio on the full
│ length album due out 2007. Boomla will hit the road in late 2007
│ with a 12 piece live show. Until then, capturing music in the
│ studio and promoting the first release is our focus.
