Release Notes:
Skatebσrd (or Skateboard) is a Norwegian producer
from Bergen, who makes a rare blend of retro synth,
electro and techno. The album has been picked up by
KOMPAKT, which should guarantee some quality.
Quite danceable and listenable at the same time!
This is his second full length album, and the first
on his own label. His first album, "Skateboarding was
a crime (in 1989)" came out on LP in 2002 on Mikal
TellΘ's Tellektro-label.
With buddy DJ Balthazar he runs the "Digitalo"-nights
at Landmark in Bergen and sometimes visits Blσ in
Oslo, and they get to DJ italodisco, synth and
electro. And even the kids love it!

"Skatebσrd is another fascinating member of the
remarkable Bergen, Norwegian music scene; yes the
same magical home of Sondre Lerche, Kings Of
Convenience, R÷yksopp and (his flat-mate) Annie.
This offbeat lad began his adventure in music upon
the release of his 2002 debut "Skateboarding Was A
Crime (in 1989)" on the legendary TellΘ electro
subsidiary imprint Tellektro. Skatebσrd conjured a
blend of retro-electro, techno to even instrumental
hiphop that made a massive mark on the dance
community.
Getting the better of his ego and seeing the
struggles of success faced with his musical
comrades in the community, Skatebσrd opted to keep
a low profile, yet anything but disappeared. He has
gone on to release a steady string of treasured
releases on Keys Of Life/SΣhk÷ and the cult label
Sex Tags Mania. Least we forget as well, his
involvement as a member of the Norwegian hip-hop
act Side Brok!
But now it's 2006 and times have changed for young
Skatebσrd as he moves back to the spotlight in the
boldest of ways - having opted away from the
opportunities of the larger label machine, he has
chosen the path of independent freedom by launching
his own imprint DIGITALO ENTERPRISES with the
marketing and distribution support from his friends
at KOMPAKT.

standard dance music formula and creates one of
this year's most engaging and utterly satisfying
