16 years old Alexander Roland, born in Heidelberg, Germany, has made
music for the most time of his life. Living in New York, he started
taking piano lessons at the age of 6, where he mostly did not focus on
playing off the sheet, but improvise what came into his mind.
Back in Germany, he started playing guitar and quit taking piano
lessons. But Alex always had a passion for electronic dance music,
which ended up in buying Technics 1210 at the age of 15 and collection
of minimal house and techno records. Questioning himself, how the music,
which he listens to, had been made and with which hardware/software the
sound had been produced, he started to produce music himself
professionally. With his ôAuftrieb EPö on Karmarouge Alex Roland delivers
an easy-going debut release that is straight and right down to the last
detail but nevertheless oblique produced. He places value on deep pumping
basslines, delighted grooves and well flavoured atmospheric and
active-minded sound scapes to present us his definition of deliciously
balanced minimal techno tunes. A lovely piece of music that touches
the heart, shakes the rump and carries gleams of love and haven into
peopleÆs heart and onto the clubÆs dance floors.
