kenji kikuchi, tokyo based dj and producer, is producing electronic
music for more than four years now. he started his electronic music
career as salmon in 2004. after releasing various productions on
local japanese labels salmon now joins the karmarouge records family.
we're very happy to welcome salmon on board. in 2004, he had his
debut with a live performance at the nike fashion show and his first
full-length album "skelton jp" which is a lounge-up-to-minimal techno
album and was released on his own label wc recordings. in the
following year, he released the clickish techno album "salmon cooks
u-zhaan" together with the transcendence tabla player u-zhaan. this
unique clickish techno album which was 100% made by sampling tabla
sound was garnering very positive reputation. apart from his release
on wc recordings, he continues multiple activities such as the
electronicabreakbeat project "metro 999". he also writes tracks for
the "mixmedia performing art group vanilla" and has performed at
their national and international tour in tokyo, korea and singapore.
now djing and performing energetically in various parts of japan,
salmon has become one of the most remarkable artists in tokyo
underground scene
