Meaning literally "sweet little jazz", Jazzinho are exactly that - a breath of
fresh Brazillian air in the cloudy world of dance music, marrying their
portugese roots to modern styles and rhythms. Having released their self titled
debut album in 2003, the band returnwith the follow up "Atlas" onFreestyle
Records . Featuring the the cream of Londons Latin fusion scene alongside guests
such as Hamish Stewart (Average White Band), Max Middleton and Brazillian legend
Ed Motta its mix of bossa, jazz, samba and funk have won an army of fans the
world over.
Here they present two of the more dancefloor based cuts from the album "The
Lagoon Monster" and "Humano Desumano". The energy and dynamic live feel of these
tracks is sure to appeal to the more eclectic DJs out there. Tucked away on the
B-side is a reworking from Schema records jazz don number one - Nicola Conte.
This really was a labout of love, as Nicola first chose 2 other songs to work
his magic on, before finally settling on "Da Tempo Ao Tempo". Utitlising a full
live band to re-record parts of the track, it swings and shakes in his own
inimitable style - another instant classic!
