After the edit of Paul Simon's "Late In The Evening" on Editions
Disco, his Balearic resurgence continues apace with the rather
better known "Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes". Todd Terje does
wonders with this "Graceland" cut, dubbing out vocal like they do
on 'CSI:Crime Scene Investigation' and isolating the South African
rhythms before settling into Ladysmith Black Mambazo's tender
outro. "Give Me Your Love" takes Curtis Mayfield's classic of the
same name, removing the vocals again, giving those strings a extra
plucks and delicately adjusting the texture with some harp-esque
guitar. Finally Astrud Gilberto's "Black Magic" undergoes a subtle
Terje discofication.
