Taking inspiration from The Killers, The
Futureheads and Bloc Party, The Dykeenies have
certainly made an impact since forming just over a
year ago.
Since selling out King Tut's in Glasgow for only
their second gig they've been at the centre of an
a&r frenzy, and supported The Mystery Jets.
Both 'New Ideas' and 'Will It Happen Tonight'
showcase the group's arty, pop-rock sound with
style, combining great vocals - both lead and
backing - and looping, clear-as-a-bell guitar
chords, building the sound up till they create a
storming, heartfelt chorus.
This is their debut single and the first release on
the record label branch of King Tut's Wah Wah Hut.
