Alex aka Nooncat hailing from the mighty Russian capital Moscow, is the
latest producer to drop some gems into the already extensive MIS vault
of quality techno music. Building on his successes from releases on
labels such as Trapez, Treibstoff & Trenton, Nooncat is more than ready
to represent Russia in Scandinavia. With a flair for solid grooves &
mesmerizing atmosphere, Nooncat brings out a tech-house belter, that
will cater to the peeps on the main floor, as well as the people hanging
out in the back rooms. The first on the A-side, "Seven Cents", is a deep
but still in your face experience for the dancing listener that is
beautiful from the moment the needle drops onto the plate. Nervous pads,
string arrangement and a trancey bassline. this track has it all.
Following on the A-side is "Snow". A track, that was clearly made for
the after hours. Hypnotic, deep and made for dancing with the eyes shut.
Finishing this EP off on the flip is the track "Nickel". Public Enemy
once stated that "The B-side wins again"...and Nooncat proves them right
again. A massive bassline and plenty off reverbed stabs plus a catchy theme
combined with several cleverly constructed breaks makes a peaktime monster!
