|   |  One lone swordsmen returns to the arena with this new single       |   |
|   |  released on his own Rotters Golf Club imprint - with Andrew        |   |
|   |  Weatherall mixing the styles and influences which made his name.   |   |
|   |  Always seemingly torn between the sleazy appeal of rock and        |   |
|   |  electronica's icy charms, Wetherall's 'The Bullet Catchers         |   |
|   |  Apprentice' initially seems to have fallen under the spell of the  |   |
|   |  former - as 'Feathers' kicks off with low-slung guitars and        |   |
|   |  thumping drums, sounding not unlike prime-time Primal Scream.      |   |
|   |  Reinforcing this opener, 'You Can't Do Disco Without A Start'      |   |
|   |  starts to thaw its rock profile through a soulful vocal that       |   |
|   |  gently eases out of the vocoder to reveal a thumping electro bass  |   |
|   |  line. From here the script is torn into tiny reminders, as 'La     |   |
|   |  Sirena' and 'Edie Eleven' crank up the grubby electroids for a     |   |
|   |  sound that gives a nod to Two Lone Swordsmen bed-fellow            |   |
|   |  Radioactive Man - with a rough digital edge and serrated beats     |   |
|   |  that are an absolute treat. Closing with the dub fuelled 'You      |   |
|   |  Can't Do Disco (Repeat/Repeat Mix)', Weatherall proves he's still  |   |
|   |  got the skills to pay the bills. Shotgun!                          |   |
