     │       A Tribe Called Quest became A Tribe Called Quits because         │
     │       the group finally realized what many fans had begun to --        │
     │       that the equilibrium that once made the trio hip-hop's           │
     │       most beloved group had somehow withered away. The Love           │
     │       Movement  doesn't match the potency of Quest's first three       │
     │       albums, but nor does it equal their last album's                 │
     │       mediocrity, as Quest shun opulent productions for quick,         │
     │       stripped- down ditties about love. Clever, crafty                │
     │       arrangements on "Find a Way" and "The Booty" (peep the           │
     │       kazoos) exhibit why they could always juggle success with        │
     │       credibility, and Q-Tip and Phife's playful lyrical banter        │
     │       is as magnetic as in the days of old. But hokey choruses,        │
     │       simplified rhymes, and obvious formulas kill a lot of the        │
     │       magic. Quest used to be a group that could resonate with         │
     │       all people, but they seem to be the latest victims of            │
     │       R&B's mindless aesthetic.                                        │
