:: Svelsurdus is a Black Metal project that was spontaneously ::
:: formed in December 2021. Being inspired by bands from all ::
:: over Europe that pay homage and respect to their fatherland, ::
:: culture, traditions and pagan history, we, D. and K., ::
:: decided to do something similar, however, in our own manner. ::
:: The whole material for the "Heathen chronicles" album, ::
:: except the lyrics of the last track, was written in about ::
:: three weeks in December 2021. Lyrics for the last track were ::
:: written somewhere during the first months of 2022. The ::
:: lyrical aspect of the album is inspired by important events ::
:: and people from the pre-Christian history of Bulgaria. The ::
:: name "Svelsurdus" comes from the Thracian mythology and it ::
:: is one of the several names of an obscure Thracian deity of ::
:: thunder, lightning and rain. The album was recorded in ::
:: different sessions during the first three months of 2022 in ::
:: minimalistic home environment. Mixing and mastering work was ::
:: done by Martin Tsenov in his Fimbulwinter studio in Iceland, ::
:: however, he did not only mix and master the album but also ::
:: wrote and recorded the first track, the intro, all by ::
:: himself and that way he took part in the composing process ::
:: too. The artwork used for the layout of the album, again - ::
:: inspired by the same aspects as the lyrics, is all hand ::
:: drawn by Elvira who also assisted with the layout editing... ::
