The new Sonologyst album, "Interdimensional", explores the
paraphysical dimension of cosmic music. It completes the dilation
process of his sound, which began with the albums "Silencers" and
"Ancient Death Cults And Beliefs", which now form an ideal trilogy
inspired by what is beyond the boundaries of science.
"Interdimensional" is inspired by the scientist Michio Kaku who
theorized what could be the remote future of the human species;
beyond matter, the stars, and known dimensions. A future that could
lead us to the victory over the end of everything, beyond the
foreseen and inevitable death of the universe known to us.
Also a cosmic record in terms of sound, "Interdimensional" is
pervaded by a sense of stasis reminiscent of Thomas Köner's
isolationist electronics, but still characterised by the use of
electrified instruments, analogue synthesizers and recordings of
resonant metal objects. Unlike the previous albums, however, the
typical dark experimental / post industrial sound of Sonologyst is
filtered through hazy warping reverberations and infinite delays,
which musically depict the intergalactic journey of a civilization
in search of a possible future beyond death.

This Is Darkness Interdimensional, the latest release from
Sonologyst, combines electrified instruments, analogue synths, and
field recordings to create a hazy mixture of discordant warping
loops and reverb filled echoes. This is a lighter, less industrial
sounding album compared with some of his previous releases, but the
experimental edge is still there and this does an amazing job of
“…musically depicting the intergalactic journey of a civilization
in search of a possible future beyond death…”. If you’re looking
for some avant-garde drone then I cannot recommend this album
strongly enough. Outstanding stuff!

SONOLOGYST is the solo project of Raffaele Pezzella (born in Italy,
1971). R. Pezzella is a records and books editor, sound technician,
musician. His project Sonologyst is based on the perpetual
experiment in sound, with a special attention to the relationships
between music and other art forms, including literature and modern
mythologies. The music, generally dark and eerie, oscillates
between the Fortean documentary and a modern concrete sound design.
Since 2014 Sonologyst is the curator of Unexplained Sounds, a
“Global Network of Aural Disorientation” whose main label,
Unexplained Sounds Group, was founded in 2015. Along side the label
activity he runs a streaming radio program (The Recognition Test),
every Sunday 9.30 p.m. CET. In 2017 he founded the label Eighth
Tower Records and in 2020 founded the label ZeroK. In 2021 the
Swedish label Reverse Alignment became part of the Unexplained
Sounds Group network. In 2021 the Eighth Tower label becomes a
music and books publishing house, releasing a first book of tales
inspired by the cosmic horror in Lovecraft’s narrative.
Sonologyst’s recordings are available through: Cold Spring Records,
Unexplained Sounds Group, Eighth Tower Records, Gravity’s Rainbow
Tapes, Attenuation Circuit.

Hi chaps! This is the new retrofuturistic "back to the future"
obso-leet AMOK nfo hybridising oldskool ASCII art and YAML.
This nfo is designed to be both human and machine readable.
We also bring a few more things:
- The filenames are appended with ISRC codes disambiguating common
dupechecking problems like remastered and remixed tracks,
transliteration errors, foreign characters...
- id3 tags include a lot more metadata than average releases,
some to name a few:
- extended genres (extracted from last.fm/bandcamp)
- similar artists
- BPM (also shown in the tracklist above)
- URLS for that release on various websites for listeners to
look for more info and to simplify nukers' jobs checking
releases
The schema_version tag allows that nfo format to evolve and stay
compatible. The current schema will be published in the near
future to make sure all .yml.nfo released will use the same
structure and set of keys.
schema_version: 0.0.6
