Smouldering in the shadows cast by the advent of their final album
Vier, enigmatic collective Hadewych pursued the recording of a
penultimate offering Mes ("Knife") - a now full-length effort that
was originally intended as counterpart to the 2014 EP Nu.
The album is a slow trek via monumental vistas, mad & mud-covered
sacraments, and spells of existential evisceration that centre upon
the festering remnants of the cross. At the medial mark the
dissection process halts, upon which restoration is found in 17
minute esoteric ambient epic Het Ware Nader, which also wraps up the
'forest' series that has been a motif throughout the group's oeuvre.
From howling laughter in the shimmer of the ultra grotesque, to an
abysmal flight between the nocturnal marches of long limbed
phantoms, Mes delivers cuts deeper and more abstruse than any of its
predecessors.
Edition of 100 cassettes housed in a deluxe box with hotfoil print.

Avant-garde / ritual band from The Netherlands founded by
multi-instrumentalist and composer Nÿland ii in 2003, with one
full-length (2009) and an EP (2014) out on Tuchtunie and a C18
cassette (2014) on Black Horizons. Aside from Nijland the band
currently consists of Hodiamont, Jongen, Lucia M and percussionist
Scramasax. Until recently the sound of Hadewych meandered somewhere
between neofolk, black metal ambience and ritual or even slightly
industrial tendencies - the latter mainly though their use of
prepared piano and percussion. The 2014 EP Ēoh was intended as a
'belated' companion to the 2009 debut and had to wrap up some loose
ends regarding their overall style as well. Consequent Hadewych
material seemed to have lost its salient folk and black metal
references, as the tracks on their release Nu show a clear change
towards ominous avant-garde composition and ritual or even cathartic
atmospheres, with an dark, unworldly stain that is akin to that of
some atmopsheric black metal. The band is known for issuing
extremely limited and elaborately hand-crafted releases. Hadewych++
is an Hadewych offshoot featuring members of Donné et Desirée, Dead
Neanderthals and Distel www.hadewych.net

Hi chaps! This is the new retrofuturistic "back to the future"
obso-leet AMOK nfo hybridising oldskool ASCII art and YAML.
This nfo is designed to be both human and machine readable.
We also bring a few more things:
- The filenames are appended with ISRC codes disambiguating common
dupechecking problems like remastered and remixed tracks,
transliteration errors, foreign characters...
- id3 tags include a lot more metadata than average releases,
some to name a few:
- extended genres (extracted from last.fm/bandcamp)
- similar artists
- BPM (also shown in the tracklist above)
- URLS for that release on various websites for listeners to
look for more info and to simplify nukers' jobs checking
releases
The schema_version tag allows that nfo format to evolve and stay
compatible. The current schema will be published in the near
future to make sure all .yml.nfo released will use the same
structure and set of keys.
