- release notes ------------------------------------------------------------- -
Matt and Kim, an adorable postpunk duo from Brooklyn, have a knack for making
small instruments sound much, much bigger. Playing with what only can be
described as unbridled lunatic joy (see their bloody, blissed-out video "5k"
for an example), the pair slashes and beams its way through a blizzard of
two-minute ditties using only an electronic keyboard and a three-piece drum
set. "Yea Yeah" the best song off their just-released, self-titled album is
all gangly, off-kilter vocals and fizzing keys until the pair launches into a
ferocious and bratty chorus of yeah-yeah-yeahs. It's postcollegiate party
music at its finest.
