It took a while since Robb Scott┤s first release on Sunshine
Enterprises, "Fallin┤" back in 2003, but now the man is back and on
the track! Exploring the territories of broken beats, jazz and funk,
together with a strong song and the wonderful vocals of Mary Edwards,
Anything you like is an outstanding piece, a song that builds and
finds to a great harmonic arranged end.
The 12" contains part one & two, instrumental at the end of the tune,
most instruments played and arranged by the gifted musician Robb
Scott. His classic "Fallin┤" gets the treatment by London┤s
underground lords Blackbeard. Famous for their tender harmonic
reinterpretations of Nas, Talib Kweli or Beyonce, they turn Fallin
into a nice laidback & melodic hip hop tune, even adding the rap
skills of Bobby Boyd, who was also featured on the releases on their
own Uptown Safari label.
Tony Nawachukwu , founder of the well-respected group Attica Blues
out of London and remixer for heavyweights like Spacek or Jazzanova,
takes the song to another level. Keeping the broken vibe, but turning
it more into a futuristic electronic piece of music, this one will do
serious damage on advanced dancefloors!
