.Releasenotes ..............................................................
Nashville, TN indie/emo rock band Pale Lungs are releasing their self titled
debut LP on January 13, 2023. The new album will contain 11 moody tracks of
layered guitar leads over melodic atmospheric indie/emo rock, that will
please fans of bands like Moving Mountains, Death Cab For Cutie, Copeland,
and Better Off. There is plenty to go around on their new LP, with high
energy rockers to more somber slow burners. Most of the songs contain twinkly
guitars but the band also showcase their southern roots with the occasional
guitar twang and other layered instrumentation. The songs on their self
titled LP spread the gamut of early/mid 2000s emo-nostalgia and alternative
rock with 5th wave emo revival, also fitting nicely alongside more recent
bands like Overgrow, Arms Length and Valleyheart.
About Pale Lungs:
Pale Lungs found its start in the Spring of 2016 in and around the Nashville
DIY music scene. In the years to come, they gained notoriety touring in
support of their early works including their debut EP, ôStrawberryö, and
follow-up EP, ôGrow Towards The Sunö. In their early years, Pale Lungs
considered themselves to be a live band, with most of their navigation
through the world of music being done so through their live performances.
During 2020, as their touring plans were put on hold, the group adjusted
their creative framework and reimagined what it looked like to be an ôactive
bandö. From that point on much of their creative output was largely
self-produced, releasing two stand alone singles, ôRight Where You Left Meö
and ôCornersö; featuring a more stripped back and songwriting-focused
approach to the bandÆs sound. These songs also introduced the voice of Marty
Crawford who would later join the band as an official member. In the spring
of 2021, Pale Lungs packed up their gear and holed up in a cabin where they
self-produced and recorded what would become their self-titled full length
LP. A record that would distill several years of songwriting and growth into
their most expansive and fully realized project to date. Pale LungsÆ
self-titled LP is out January 13th, 2023
