The header of the Bandcamp page for Prepare My Glider features a shoegaze
staple: an overstuffed pedalboard. True to their name, they offer plenty of
Shieldsian glide guitar and dreamy harmonies that float beautifully above the
noise.

Canadians Prepare My Glider are joined by Russian indie folk artist
Gouachepaint who provides both words and voice for this collaboration.
Convertible, Full Speed is another example of hazy shoegaze drawing on
influences from the likes of The Cocteau Twins to My Bloody Valentine. The
ethereal vocals are somewhat incorporeal whilst musically the song shimmers
before fading out in a spate of harsh, industrial sounding, noise. Yeah. ItÆs
good!

Shoegaze
is a genre of alternative rock that
originated in the late 80s. The genre is very
difficult to define, and it is even more difficult to evaluate music
within it. Generally, the genre is characterized by its
shimmering vocals, reverberating guitars, and
textural distortion that create
a tranquil, opaque
feeling.
