│ Supergroup time! When was the last time the music world saw a │
│ proper supergroup? Not counting the recent atrocities │
│ (Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, Zwan), I'm gonna go ahead and say │
│ it was Temple of the Dog. But your boy Damon Albarn (former │
│ Blur frontman and current Gorillaz cartoon dude) is back to │
│ change all that. Albarn was rumored to have been working on a │
│ solo album for a while with Dangermouse behind the boards, but │
│ the project seems to have expanded quite a bit. It now includes │
│ former Clash bassist Paul Simonon, Fela Kuti's Africa 70 │
│ drummer Tony Allen and founding Verve member Simon Tong. Crazy! │
│ Since Albarn, Mr. Mouse and Tong all had a hand in creating the │
│ last Gorillaz album, it should come as no surprise that │
│ "Herculean(1)" sounds a whole lot like Gorillaz. Dangermouse │
│ keeps the beats thick and miles deep while Albarn's voice │
│ trembles through filters galore. It's a beautiful track, I'll │
│ admit, just nothing new from these guys. On the flip, "Mr. │
│ Whippy(2)" features London-based MC Eslam Jawaad rhyming in │
│ Islamic. Edgy! Also includes a fold out poster featuring the │
│ cover illustration by Paul Simonon. │

│ HerculeanÆ, the first single from the album The Good, The Bad │
│ and The Queen, will be released by Parlophone/Honest Jons on │
│ October 30th, 2006 on CD and 7ö and deleted the same day, it │
│ will also be available on download. │

│ The artwork for this limited edition single, depicting a West │
│ London industrial scene, is by the album's bass player Paul │
│ Simonon. │
