Providing high quality earlube for your earlobes
straight outta Montreal, Heroes & Villains are four
young twenty something rockers who like what they
do, and occasionally do what they like. As Raphael
Parent's characteristic lush, warm vocals dominate
the microphone, C. Pierre Megarbane sprays euphoric
sonar landscapes from his six-string and Jeremy
Proville punctuates those jangle-tones with the
help of his trusty bass while Dominique Salameh
exgurgitates the quickest sixteenth drum beats
you'll ever digest. As one, they are Heroes &
Villains, and they stand before songs that,
somewhere in their quest for the perfect pop-rock
tune, have turned into pleas of affection for 30's
actresses, dead guitar necks and unmade beds. H&V
met in 2003, tuned a couple of instruments, and
recorded a self-titled demo in early 2004. Saluted
on the main page of the New Music Canada website,
they kept on performing regularly throughout 2005.
That May saw the much awaited recording of their
first EP with Howard Bilerman, at Hotel2Tango.
Their opening statement, the new and yet untitled
LP, to be recorded in Summer 2006 will be supported
by a sweltering mid-August tour of Quebec and
Ontario. Be there. Inspired by the music and
tribulations of, among others, The Smiths and Gene
Clark, Heroes & Villains would be pleased to meet
you and, well, words just can't stop 'em now.
