Euclid:
While working at Harvard in 2004, mathematical researcher Godried
Toussaint made an amazing discovery. All important world music
rhythms, apart from Indian music, are based off of the Euclidian
algorithm. Euclidian rhythms are created using this mathematical
algorithm to equidistantly divide sound and silences over a selected
time. Whether intentional or not, it is a fascinating melding of math
and art that seems to happen effortlessly throughout nature. For this
song I used 10 unique Euclidian rhythms and tried to blend them into a
seamless flowing river of percussive and tonal symmetry.
Ascending Passage:
This song was created on the 4 year anniversary of our trip to Egypt
for the Great Convergence. The chanting samples in this song were
recorded in the King's Chamber of the Great Pyramid of Giza. About 20
of us went into the King's Chamber around midnight. The acoustics
