│ Now that Diplo's halfway through his stated objective of 10 │
│ EPs, he's decided to unleash the most power-packed volume ever │
│ to power the Hollertronix series through its second leg. Our │
│ boy took a trip down to Baltimore and came back with a handful │
│ of exclusive joints from some of the biggest names in the game. │
│ Unruly Records owner and Baltimore legend Scotty B leads the │
│ whole thing off with "The Almighty Unruly Simon Joint(1)," │
│ where he and cohorts King Tut & Will Roc flip Paul Simon's "You │
│ Can Call Me Al" (the one with the Chevy Chase video!) into a │
│ frenzied rave-up. (Personal note: this shit destroyed, without │
│ fail, every single time I dropped it while I was on tour. So │
│ recognizable.) Diplo himself is up next with his wild Yaz remix │
│ "Don't Go Snitchin'(2)," followed by DJ Tameil's murderous │
│ "Trans Newark Express(3)." Everyone and their mom has a │
│ half-assed Kraftwerk remix, but the Brick City boy really │
│ brought it with this one. Say Wut's "Bueller Theme(4)" gives │
│ "Simon Joint" a run for its money as best track here, as he │
│ lays a nasty 4x4 sound under Yello's eternal "BOMP BOMP û │
│ CHICKA CHICKA" rhythm. When Sizzle was still working here │
│ (R.I.P.) he was going crazy for this track, saying how it was │
│ like Bmore on steroids. I happen to agree. Special │
│ non-Baltimore bonus track tacked on the end as the mysterious │
│ DJ Jazzy Jebediah blends Lil Scrappy with Professor Longhair │
│ (he of the Lily Allen sample) for "The Scrappy Chief(5)." Now │
│ seriously: these things always sell out relatively quickly, and │
│ when we're out of stock, we're out of stock. Then dudes come │
│ hollering customer service asking where they can get theirs. │
│ Don't sleep! Highly recommended. │
