along the lines of our prior subscription CD EP series, purposeful
availment, we are pround to announce a new series based around the same
model. modern containment will consist of eight CD EPs by eight
different artists released over the course of 2006 and 2007. these discs
will be available through three lobed recordings by subscription only.
subscribers will receive the discs in pairs starting in june of 2006 and
(hopefully, but, as experience has taught us, not absolutely) every six
to eight weeks after that until all of the releases have been exhausted.
the contributors to modern containment are (in alphabetical order):
bardo pond
hush arbors
kinski
mirror/dash
sun city girls
sunburned hand of the man
matt valentine & erika elder with the bummer road
wooden wand and the omen bones band
each CD is around 25 minutes long (or longer in most cases) and features
new, exclusive material from that particular artist. each disc is only
available to subscribers or directly from the contributing band. these
discs will *not* be available through distributors or sold individually
by three lobed. similar to purposeful availment, there will also be a
hand silkscreened slipcase to house the series featuring new artwork
from john gibbons of bardo pond. the slipcase will be included in one of
the later mailings.
