Germany's premium class soul-jazz pianist attracted international attention with
his GRP albums "Ducks'n'Cookies" and "Scratch Blue" (feat. Robben Ford -
guitar), as well as with his current album "Jam It Up!" (feat. Dave Weckl -
Drums). His melange of funk, soul, latin and fusion, has been compared with
"Tower Of Power" by some critics, and he has no problem keeping up with his
American role models. The success of the first two albums led to invitations to
large jazz festivals, like the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague or the
Montreux Jazz Festival. He has also shared the stage with such stars as Spyro
Gyra and George Benson.
In demand as a sideman, Nils has played with greats like Dee Dee Bridgewater,
Inga Rumpf, The Platters, Georg Danzer and the Three Degrees, as well as for the
NDR Big Band in numerous studio and live productions.Besides his tours, he
regularly plays in groups ranging from trios to his 11-member funk & soul band
at the Stage Club Hamburg.
Nils took over the release of his new album, Burning (06/2006), himself.
Enjoy...
