Born John Philip James Braden, Fresh grew up in a somewhat strict christian
background. Born to a Pastor and an evangelist, Fresh was given a strong
foundation. But like most preacher's kids, Fresh found himself a rebel. Fresh
knows right from wrong, but all too often has found himself left, far from
'right.'
Music Is His Life! Fresh's father, Rev. Braden, tells a story of a young Fresh
sitting on his father's lap, while the reverand played to piano to calm his
young son down. MUSIC IS HIS LIFE! As made evident by the music note tattooed
behind his left ear. The meaning behind it lies in what Fresh considers music.
"Life Is Music, and music is Life. Everything i hear, from gun shots, to the
sound of airplanes flying through the air, police sirens, and the sound of a
baby crying, its all music."
"Music is more than just melody and rhythm to me, it's emotion, its soul, every
piece should represent a piece of you as the musician, if not, its manufactured
and not from the soul," says Fresh. In his music you find him, Fresh, from the
storys of being and inner city youth, expected to fail, to the sorrows of death,
and the joys of life.
Fresh isnt a thug, or a "gangsta," not a hoodlum or a nucklehead, he's just a
man. A man who crys when he is hurt, but isnt the one to mess with when he is
angered. The man he has become is from, his rearing in the church, and his
running of the streets.
Fresh is what the game is missing, better yet Fresh is what the world is
missing. And as much as he has to offer, he has much more to gain.
