3 brand new songs; 'Lost Memory' 'Hit the Ground' and 'Beyond Sea and Sky'.
'Beyond Sea and Sky' is a taster for the band's new album, which is currently in
production, ready for release in summer 2007. 'Beyond Sea and Sky' takes a
sideways step away from the quirky lo-fi production of their previous EP
'Elemental' into sumptuous orchestral soundscapes reminiscent of early
shoegazers Slowdive, Cocteau Twins but with the modern influences of Sigur Ros
and Mogwai . 'Lost Memory' is a reverb-soaked, gentle, sprawling epic. 'Hit the
Ground' is all-crashing, fuzzy guitars, 'Deep Thinker' and the title track
'Beyond Sea and Sky' delicately meanders, peaks and shimmers with Jamie and
Kathryn's vocals rising and falling amongst the swathes of violins, pianos and
guitar feedback. Secret Shine are recognized for their output on the cult label
Sarah Records in the early/mid nineties, most of which was re-issued on
Tonevendor in 2004. The positive reaction to the US re-issue led to the
recording of the acoustic album 'Morris' (May 2005). After rave reviews and
requests for more new material the band released 'Elemental' EP (February 2006)
and now 'Beyond Sea and Sky'. Secret Shine have recently toured the UK, Europe
and East Coast USA (October 2006). The band are limiting the pressing of 'Beyond
Sea and Sky' to 500 copies.
