██ Jukka RuohomΣki is a veteran in electronic music.
██ He started on analogue equipment at the end of
██ 1960's, worked with music through the 70's, made
██ computer graphics in the 80's and began composing
██ music again in 1994, after sixteen years of
██ silence.
██
██ RuohomΣki makes music with computers, and his
██ method is based entirely on hearing. Bird song,
██ human voices or steel plate scratching can all
██ serve as basic material which is then worked into
██ music. This is usually an extensive and
██ time-consuming process. RuohomΣki does not use
██ traditional pulse-based rhythmics, harmonics or
██ notation. Instead, he listens to his sound
██ material very carefully throughout the working
██ process, in order to discover compositional
██ possibilities offered by that material.

██ Hot Igloo is proud to present the debut album of
██ Jukka RuohomΣki, titled Time Ride. The man is a
██ pioneer among the auteurs of electronic music in
██ Finland and this release summarizes his work from
██ the past twelve years.
