The Jaz, later better known as Jaz-O, best known for being the mentor of
Jay-Z, had success with his 1989 single "Hawaiian Sophie" from his debut
album "Word To The Jaz", which Jaz produced along with Bryan Chuck New and
Pete Q. Harris (producers for Kool Moe Dee, Jazzy Jeff). Jaz' sophomore
solo album "To Your Soul" surfaced in 1990, and spotted production from
Prince Paul (De La Soul), Chad Elliot (Usher, Jodeci), Vandy C (Kid Flash)
     and again from Jaz himself.

The 1991 EP "Ya Don't Stop" again featured stellar production, from the
likes of Large Professor and DJ Mark The 45 King. While all featured
appearances by a young Jay-Z (both credited, uncredited, and as 'Jay Zee'),
Jaz later featured on several Jay-Z tracks with vocals ('Bring It On',
'Nigga What, Nigga Who') as well as production ('Ain't No Nigga', 'Rap
Game/Crack Game'). The album "Kingz Kounty" was released in 2002 on Rancore
Records under the name Jaz-O & The Immobilarie.
