it seems like it's been ages since we've heard basic soul unit's
clean production (just over a year in fact), so it's good to
reacquaint ourselves with his delectable production once again.
"deep blue" is a masterful piece, a technological track with
references to acid, carl craig, ibadan and chandler, well in tune
with the tastes of the day (or rather we're now more in tune to
bsu's sound). "the march ahead" is a touch more techno with its
abrupt drums and glacial keys, while "passaro" pulses with a
retro, ur-derived heartbeat.
