Periodic features two lengthy new elemental droneworks from Canadian guitar
deconstructionist Aidan Baker (also of NADJA), Periodic 1 (29:55) and
Periodic 2 (26:32). Baker constructed these pieces from manipulated and
damaged 4-track recordings of electric and acoustic guitars (as well as
drums) that have been re-assembled into monstrously slow-moving epics of
rolling feedback tides. Incandescent storm clouds gather in the distance
flecked with shafts of pink light and omnipresent tape hiss shot from
pulsating and rippling speaker cones suspended high in the earth's
atmosphere. Deeply buried drum rhythms surface amdist gradually building
layers of delicate, gossamer skree and subterranean grinding. A beautiful and
fully realized drone album, highly recommended to fans of Aidan Baker's work,
as well as that of fellow drift explorers Oren Ambarchi, Troum, and
Birchville Cat Motel.Packaged in a hand-assembled, full-color cardsleeve in a
resealable plastic sleeve. Presented in an edition of 250 copies, hand
