Reviews
---------
" 'Visions Of Solitary Branches' is an intimate album. One of rare beauty.
Painful. 14 songs come directly from Filipe Miranda's soul.
(...) Sounds, practically nude, show the song in its most purest shape. Almost
every time we feel the acoustic guitar. The run of the fingers through the
strings makes our spine shiver.
(...) We can notice here some of the influences left from Kafka in one or
another experimental moment.
The Partisan Seed's debut album is made of an inspiring peace. A record that
messes with our most profound senses. And when an album has this kind of
capacity inside itself, it's because it has life. All the great works are like
this. They perpetuate life beyond themselves.
'Visions Of Solitary Branches' arrives as the year ends. It came with the cold,
to warm our bones. But it came in time to be consider one of the best albums of
2006."

"It's here! December is the month. It's called 'Visions of Solitary Branches'
and it's The Partisan Seed's very awaited debut album; in another words, the
first solo project of Filipe Miranda, the voice of the extinct - and most missed
- Kafka. Judging by the sample - a generous one, with 14 beautiful and intimate
songs - simple songs but also full, melancholic, specially burned by the
strength of the lyrics. A Transporte release."
___

Filipe Miranda was the lead singer and one of the mentors of the extinct Kafka
::: Nowadays, he is Interm.Ission's voice/guitar and part of the Milagro
experience ::: Collaborated with Umbilical Nod, Das Christian and Green Machine
::: As a member of the Nikouala project, composes for theatrical performances.

Filipe wrote and recorded the 14 songs that became his first solo album,
'visions of solitary branches', using the name The Partisan Seed. The album,
made between Barcelos and Oporto and co-produced by JosΘ Arantes (member of La
La La Ressonance), was released by Transporte, December 2006.

With The Partisan Seed, the author presents a free composition style, from
indie-folk to instrumental experimentalism. Putting the emphasis in the lyric's
messages, that live between love and melancholy, The Partisan Seed reveals a
profound self-portrait of the composer, through a flux of introspective and
sincere songs.

In concert, Filipe Miranda sings, playing acoustic guitar and piano. The
Partisan Seed also has a collaborating crew: Pedro Oliveira: melodica, drums &
darbouka; Nuno Fernandes: electric and acoustic guitars; Joπo Coutada: bass &
percussion; Pedro Cabral: drums, percussion & piano; Nelson Coelho: bass; JosΘ
Arantes: sound technician; Joaquim Durπes: road manager ::: On record, Lisete
Santos sings on two of the most intimate songs. Special guests, Scarabs' Water
Pipe.

Message from Filipe: ½The album 'visions of solitary branches' is made of new
and old songs, written for my bedroom walls. They talk about my people, my
places... The possibility of putting some of them on record was a wonderful
thing. I had some help from a few friends, musicians who came to contribute with
their personal experiences. That's why this record has a little bit of
everything - we even put some jazz and electronica adventures in it (Nuno, Pedro
and Koala J, all the love). Hope you'll enjoy the songs. Thank you all for
listening! (Filipe Miranda)╗
