Dinah Shore's easy way with a lyric and her
behind-the-beat feel gave credence to her occasional
forays into jazz. Andre Previn, who had previously
done orchestrations for Shore, brought his piano
skills, as well as bassist Red Mitchell, and drummer
Frank Capp, to this intimate 1959 session of
late-night ballads and love songs. Four tracks from
the original album and two of the four bonus tracks
are just voice and piano. The originally three-track
tapes were newly remixed in 24-bit for this
first-time-on-CD release.
