. In April 2006, Richard Polson, one of the greatest artists .
. of the UK underground techno scene, suddenly and .
. unexpectedly passed away aged 37. .
. .
. Richard was very much one of electronic music's unsung .
. heroes. A pioneer who preferred to let the music do the .
. talking, he has helped shaped the face of British .
. electronic music over the past twelve years. His music and .
. spirit has inspired many others to continue his legacy for .
. what he believed to be true and just : music uncluttered .
. by ego and hype. He is responsible for numerous releases .
. under various aliases like Lysander Pearson and .
. Structure,and in groups under 65D Mavericks, The Abelde, .
. Richard Lahaine, Dual unity, Outline, Spirit and Void .
. aliases. .
. .
. He was also a label manager and after founding respected .
. record labels like Blueprint and Fracture with James .
. Ruskin, he went on to start Surface and later Inceptive, .
. running them with long time friend NIck Dunton. Surface .
. rec. has been a stalwart in the techno community for the .
. last 10 years and has seen appearances by luminaries such .
. as Claude Young, Oliver Ho, Alexander Kowalski, Surgeon, .
. Regis, James Ruskin, Paul Mac and Oscar Mulero. The .
. recently launched sister label Inceptive was launched to .
. showcase new and up and coming talented artists such as .
. Phase, Nick Wilson, Reeko, Hu, Cyp and Sys-ex. .

. In late 96, Richard met Nick Dunton, a producer in his own .
. right and they decided to work together on occasional .
. projects. These occasional projects soon became the .
. makings of a great friendship and musical partnership, and .
. since then the pair have recorded and released numerous .
. records under various pseudonyms.Together the Mavericks .
. have maintained a strong musical relationship, which sees .
. them striving to release forward thinking music on both .
. imprints, as well as indulging themselves in various .
. forthcoming multimedia projects. They have been quoted as .
. saying "The 65D Mavericks was never meant to be about .
. money or conformity but about expressing that which has .
. not yet been expressed, about music for the mind as well .
. as the floor" and judging by some of there forthcoming .
. projects, for instance their eagerly anticipated album on .
. their own Surface imprint, they weren't wrong. They .
. continue to confuse and bemuse the record buying public by .
. consistently releasing records under different names in .
. different scenes, but as they said in a recent interview .
. “a closed mind is like a closed book, just a block of .
. wood”. The 65D Mavericks take it upon themselves to tailor .
. every live set to each specific gig, if you miss it, it’s .
. gone forever! May this tribute be like their live acts. So .
. expect some sounds from the 65d mavericks recorded over .
. recent years and also from the artists he decided to .
. support with his different labels. .

. one of the kindest, most genuine people you could ever .
. hope to meet..He has left behind a legacy that we canall .
