The obscure second album from Bobby "Funky Superfly"
Williams -- and that's saying a heck of a lot, given
how rare his first album is! The Bobby heard here is a
bit less gritty than on some of his more famous funk
singles -- a more well-rounded singer with a deep sort
of southern soul approach, and a fair bit more
sophistication than before. That doesn't stop the
record from being a groover, though -- and most of the
best cuts here slide out with a style that's almost in
the best Miami funk modes of the time -- with good
production on the smoother elements, but still enough
of a groove at the bottom to get things going, and
plenty of real soul vocals over the top!
