A bit more subdued set than usual from Oddjob -- working here
in a style that's very textural, and which shows a continuing
evolution in their sound! Gone are the easier funk lines of
the group's first few records, and in their place are more
sophisticated modes of expression -- styles that range from
the atmospherics heard on older ECM records, to some of the
most evocative contemporary soundtracks in recent years.
There's a much more widely developed sense of color and timing
than before -- and the instrumentation is still great, but
used in very different approaches that really expand the sound
of the record. Members of the group include Per Rusktrask
Johansson on saxes, Goran Kajfes on trumpet, and Daniel
Karlsson on piano, Fender Rhodes, and Hammond.
