just like James Herriott, that country vet from the telly - except
they wear shellsuits and dig deep house. Their last release on
Winding Road was the ABCDE EP. Everyone loved it. Then they went out
farming and didnÆt return. Now the lambing season is over, MatlockÆs
housiest bumpkins have rolled back into tÆmill to unleash their
cattle-bothering sounds on unsuspecting fangled city folk. This EP is
rock solid from top to bottom. Rock. Solid. Even Rhythm Plate say
this is their best ever release. This means - 4 tracks of burning,
pumping, forward-thinking house music. Every track on this EP is a
killer tune, whether itÆs dark warehouse soul, throbbing deep house
or early 80s disco dub. Silence Is sounds like DFA playing at a
Berlin warehouse rave. Techno, live bass and wild vocals - crazy
anthem. Hard Times is tight, heavyweight house which will tear the
roof off when played in a sweaty club. Remember The Days is an
instant dancefloor-filler with life-affirming rubbery bass movements
and warm squidgy chords. Node Out is stripped-down underground disco
dub with chunky 80s beats and jiggy piano stabs. Absolute winner.
