             The partly mustached trio known as We Are Scientists          ███
             recently stepped into the iTunes studio for an impassioned    ███
             but stripped down exploration of the songs on the bands       ███
             debut album "With Love & Squalor." With the waves of guitar   ███
             feedback removed, the groups wounded, wiry pop stands out.    ███
             The songs are lean and more direct. Both "Callbacks" and the  ███
             hit "Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt" sound miles apart from     ███
             their originals at first, but the same intensity lurks        ███
             within. Vocalist Keith Murray really stands out, his          ███
             unabashed croon sounding comfortable in these new,            ███
             uncluttered surroundings.                                     ███
