Elzie Sexton and J. Caleb Means grew up in Southern Illinois. After a youth of
playing in Punk Rock bands, they went their seperate ways to college. In 2004,
they began New Ruins as a long-distance recording project. During weekends and
breaks from 2004-2005 they recorded an EP "Build A Fort/Set That On Fire", a
full-length: "A Collection" and another e.p, "Hotter Months". In August of 2005,
they moved to Champaign to work on the live representation. After a year of
playing shows as a duo, they have finally found the rest of their band. On
board: Paul Chastain (Velvet Crush/Matthew Sweet/Unbunny) on Bass. Also, Roy
Ewing (Braid/Very Secretary) is going to pound the skins.
