| Finnish Black Metal is revered all over the World. Many majestic acts were |
| born in such a place, and its mystical essence still reigns. Very little |
| information is known about the project besides being a one-man project. |
| Musically speaking, Turtumus lives within the spectrum of Melodic Black |
| Metal, with a raw approach in terms of production. Melody and melody and |
| more melody. That is one side of the version the Finns have given us of |
| Black Metal, for decades. That slow pace that builds up last track, |
| Tyhj Katse is a more melancholic style; nonetheless, it is very well |
| done. |

| However, we are offered a variety of tunes that tick all sorts of boxes in |
| the Finnish Black Metal field. Aggressive and fast-paced Black Metal that |
| resembles Darkthrone and other Nordic legends; the lad presented a very |
| broad example of Black Metal, tapping the Raw, the Melancholic, and the |
| Melodic Black Metal styles. I admit that imagining all this in under 30 |
| minutes might sound odd, but he did make it. He collected influences from |
| various musical essences in the Nordic Black Metal scene and converted |
| them into a very consistent sound. We are also able to hear some Folkish |
| details, which add an extra layer to his sound. |

| Overall, we have a very simple and straightforward Black Metal, no |
| reinventions nor strange inventions , Turtumus sound is rooted in past |
| bands, yet up to date with how the genre works. The melodies are delicate, |
| but at the same time punishing and rotten. Very curious to see where he |
| will take us next. |
