This is the third Karat/Katapult compilation, containing 100%
exclusive tracks made for this project. It features work from
artists on the label roster and some newcomers - all keen to
explore the finer points of house, electro and techno.
The record starts with The Mole, brilliant canadian musician that
all music lovers already know for his releases on Mutek, Risquee
and Philpot. Here he's delivering a beautiful deep and sexy house
track. Then Dolibox, this year's Karat's revelation, follows with a
gorgeous modern blues piece. The CD continues in a lush deep style
taking in contributions from established artisits like Ark and
Mikael Weill, whose spaced-out electro is a highlight of the comp.
In its approach, Karat always manages to avoid cliches and its
artists show skills in mixing funk, warmth, groove and quest for
new sounds, new textures; always with the will to advance the music
without loosing the essence of "House". Despite its youth, Karat is
known worldwide and is often quoted as one of the best French
labels.
