Kings have long arms is adrian flanagan, sheffield
resident (by way of salford) with a penchance for
cheekiness and making rather great outsider pop.
His debut lp is called 'i rock-eye pop', and it's
what he calls north salford-samba,
blackpoolelectronica, carribean via crystal peaks
booty bass, 1970s old yorkshire disco, east
european cossack techno, 3-step r&b spythriller
songs, electrorockabillysexmusic, slogan-baiting
middle eastern party pop, with theremins and
strings and tear-jerking working men's club
electroballads.
The album features guest appearances from ray
dorset (aka mungo jerry), philip oakey (the human
league), andy rourke and mike joyce from the smiths
and the voice that is denise johnson (a certain
ratio).
Highlights include the extremely infectious singles
'rock and roll is dead' (featuring phil oakey),
'lisa riley' and 'feels like i'm in love'
(featuring mungo jerry).
