    Wendy Atkinson released Trim, her solo bass-only album that includes
    electric, acoustic and double bass, to rave reviews and airplay in late
    2003. She created a recording that is atmospheric and vivid using only this
    one instrument, an instrument that is generally relegated to the rhythmic
    background of most music. In addition to writing and performing, she also
    recorded and mixed this project on a 4-track. Trim charted on North American
    college radio and was featured nationally on CBCs Brave New Waves.
    In 2004 she performed at Ladyfest Ottawa and the Ambient Ping series in
    Toronto. In 2005 she performed at BLIM (Vancouver) and the Western Front, an
    artist-run centre in Vancouver. She was also selected as one of the artists
    included in Art in the Air, an international audio art festival held in
    2005. In 2006 she was again selected for Art in the Air and is also included
    in the "Sonic Landscapes" sound exhibit at Metrospace in East Lansing,
    Michigan.

    She is currently working on a follow-up to Trim and a CD collaboration with
    David Lester, guitarist for the band Mecca Normal.

    Over the past few years she has played with a variety of musicians, at
    various festivals, on TV and radio. Many recordings she's played on have
    charted on college radio. Wendy worked with poet/activist Bud Osborn and
    David Lester on a spoken word/music CD called Hundred Block Rock. It
    received national airplay and was made into a video that has been screened
    at a variety of video poem festivals around the world and was acquired by
    CBC's national TV show Zed.
