Vancouver-based jazz pianist and composer Lisa
Miller formed this remarkable group a few years ago
as a vehicle for her compositions, which embrace
her interests in jazz, contemporary classical
music, and free improvisation. As a pianist, Miller
possesses serious talent, enabling her to attack
the keyboard with ferocity or play with deep
sensitivity, while her compositions evoke a variety
of subtle emotions through their extended forms and
open spaces. Performing with Miller are her
longtime collaborators bassist Steve Smith, cellist
Peggy Lee, and drummer Dylan van der Schyff.
