A treat for funk/breaks DJs as the Octopus Breaks crew release a one 12ö with 6
edits for classic breaks tracks. First up is the Aretha Frankiln stormer æHouse
that Jack BuiltÆ sampled by Big Daddy Kane for his "The House that Cee Built".
Following that we have the ace disco/boogie æRigor MortisÆ from Cameo from Æ77.
Next is the ACE track from Reuben Howell û æYou Made Your BedÆ which was
featured on the 45 Kings Fat City comp (its actually a vocal version of the
ultra rare break classic "Scratchin" by the Magic Disco Machin which Joey Negro
also edited together for one of his Better Days 12"s). On the flip we have the
æTheme from M.A.S.HÆ which is a ace big band funk track with some sick drum
breaks. Next up we have the Manfred Man esque æDizzyÆ which Vic Reeves covered.
To end this ace EP we have the classic funk track æSoul MakossaÆ by Manu
Dibango, extended for the breaks. This really is a treat which should not be
missed.
